Flock - a bit different Internet browser
Mar 11th, 2007 by AndieCZ
Each moment in the Internet age development needs its sign - right now it is Web 2.0. There is almost no single person, who had no
chance to meet this nice slogan. It means generally nothing, but it sounds attractive to the investors, when they have to decide where to put their money.
Flock is a special web browser, which is done specifically for the people, who believe in Web 2.0. Flock supports direct upload of your photos to many websites and it also allows to blog easily and easier putting of comments to blogs you can see around you. That Web 2.0 is pretty easy, isn’t it?
The main issue of Flock is the huge application, which is not started within a second, it takes quite a long time to see the main window and during its function - you can see some bugs in the action.
Generally, I do not like Flock as it looks like a dinosaur on my Mac. It takes a pretty long time to start a program and it has very limited features of customization. You have to like the standard look of the program, you cannot easily change it.
If you like Web 2.0, then Flock can be right choice for you.
Hey AndieCZ,
Performance and launch time are some big issues we’ll be tackling before Flock 1.0. Additionally, Flock theme customization will be available by 1.0. Hope you give us another look then.
Flock on,
