Airport, Apple

New Airport Extreme ordered

03.13.07 | Comment?

As I have my own iMac and MacBook Pro, I always suffer from the missing network as I have the 500 GB external disk connected to my iMac. Usually, when I need to quickly access files stored on the external disk, my iMac is turned off or sleeping.

Airport ExtremeAs a solution I decided to buy a new Airport Extreme to change it for my current Airport Express as I will be able to connect the disk directly to the Airport Extreme and I will have some “kind of the personal home network”.

I visited the local Apple Store to buy a new Airport Extreme. Their answer was pretty typical – “We have them, but you have to wait for it for 3 weeks.” Their answer was a bit absurd to me, but I accepted.

So, I am waiting for the SMS message in 3 weeks, that my Airport Extreme is ready to be taken from them. At least, they did not want any pre-payment, which is also quite typical for them. And I hope, their customer care will improve as I had to ask them to make a reservation for me, not them offering such a service to me.

And there is also connected question – is it possible to connect just a hard drive to the Airport Extreme or can I connect a USB hub to the Airport Extreme as well as I can connect a printer and more hard drives as well? Do you know the answer?
