Future of QuickTime in Leopard?

03.25.07 | 2 Comments

QuickTimeDo you like playing movies in different formats on your Mac OS X? But you do not want to register and pay additional money to enhance QuickTime Player included in the operating system?

I never understood to the policy of Apple with QuickTime Player. As the player is excellent, but I see no reason to pay money to unblock the “PRO” features and to loose them automatically, when I need to re-install the operating system.

I hope, Apple will leave the policy of “crippled” QuickTime included in the standard system and it will include the full version in Mac OS X Leopard. It would be nice from the company.

Personally as I believe in Mac OS X as the multimedia system, I wish the situation with video formats to be solved. Mac OS X is nice, but a lot of multimedia content is not able to play on Mac OS X. The support for more media format should be included in the system, including those terrible wmv files, which I am not able to play at all.

What do you think? Would not be that nice?
