The graphics and web designers should start the celebration party. Adobe will finally announce Adobe Creative Suite 3 this week.
It is expected, Adobe will make just the announcement of the product, but the real release will be done later this spring (do you see, the same story as Mac OS X Leopard – this spring will be very hot and extremely expensive for the Apple fans around the Globe).
Me personally, I am not a fan of Adobe Creative Suite as I do not use Photoshop. Not because I would not like to, but the Suite is hell very expensive for me and my occasional work with graphics. But for the graphics studios, creative companies and advertising agencies, it will be a real celebration.
Adobe Creative Suite 3 will offer a new user interface, strong performance improvements and finally – it will be a complete universal binary. So, the agencies have a chance to throw away their old PowerPC based computers and to change them for the Intel based. /I am sad a bit – I am a PowerPC fan as I believe the processor was really great in the times of its introduction. Apple has gone away from PowerPC architecture and Microsoft and Sony started to use PowerPC architecture for their new high end game consoles – Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3./
Adobe Creative Suite 3 can be seen as the final stop on the transition from PowerPC architecture to Intel based Macs. It was the last common application suite to be converted from the old architecture to the new one. As many people expected huge issues on the way, it was very smooth and Apple did really great job. Or did you meet any major issue on the way?
PS. I forgot – there still one suite to be transferred – Microsoft Office, which is expected at the end of this year.
