It is good news for Apple. iPod is still ruling the world of the MP3 players. 100 millions of iPod were sold to the customers, which is really excellent. I think no one expected this product to be the icon of the modern world. iPod owners were recognized as the innovative and modern people, users of different solutions were taken as minorities.
I believe, iPod will be excellent study for marketing and business strategy students as the example of innovations and visionary product. It was taken as other consumer good, but excellent marketing and state-of-the-art device user interface turned iPod from the consumer good to the icon. This can usually happen to every company just once in its life.
Apple gave us a present - 100 Gigabytes for music and videos. It sounds excellent, but I have 60 GB model and 55% of free space inside it. Do I need more? No. For the last year, just colors and more space was added to iPod. What about something new? I am bored by colors and space. It is a standard, right now; I would love to get more.
Apple TV is finished, Leopard is on the way. iPod needs to follow the friends in the battle for the market share /as Microsoft never sleeps/.
