Azureus – BitTorrent file sharing application

Many people believe P2P networks are just full of illegal content. Honestly, on P2P networks you find what you are looking for. And when you look for the illegal content, you will definitely find some.

Me personally, I use BitTorrent networks to download preview trailers and other stuff released to be used by the public and to use the Internet to spread it for a zero cost.

BitTorrent networks and Mac OS X have a special relationship. Even when you browse the sites with torrents, it is very limited number of torrents for illegal stuff. We, as the Apple community, are pretty disciplined and we prefer to buy software and to pay for the content. iTunes Store definitely works for us.

There are several BitTorrent clients available for Mac OS X. After playing with several BitTorrent clients I have decided to go on with Azureus. It was the only client, which needed no set up from my side. It was able to configure all the ports and other stuff on its own, which was really important for me as I am not a tech freak.

It has also very sophisticated user interface and you can choose a lot of files to download right from the main screen of the application. And the sharing and downloading with Azureus is really quick and the processor utilization is not that high as I would expect.
