		<description>iChat supports a more open and cross platform protocol than either of ICQ, MSN or Yahoo.  That being &lt;a href="http://www.jabber.org.au/" rel="nofollow"&gt;Jabber&lt;/a&gt;/&lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extensible_Messaging_and_Presence_Protocol" rel="nofollow"&gt;XMPP&lt;/a&gt;.  Since Jabber is an open standard, there are dozens of programs for Windows, Linux and Mac that use it.  That includes Adium as well and even Google &lt;a href="http://www.google.com/talk/" rel="nofollow"&gt;uses it&lt;/a&gt;.  Of course the support in iChat is still rather primitive, though I think we can expect that to improve in Leopard.</description>

		<description>Your mum's phone won't act like a USB storage device because of her phone, not the operating system of the computer.  

Why should iChat "learn other instant messenger formats?"  Why don't ICQ, MSN and Yahoo do that? iChat is fully capable of connecting to the same network that AIM uses.  A network with many Windows users that use AIM. 

If she is "satisfied," then why is she looking for several improvements?  It sounds to me like she is unsatisfied.  

You should probably try and get better at what you do.</description>
